Introducing The Squad, the next phase of development in our junior coaching pathway

The Font Squad will provide a huge opportunity for those climbers with the desire and commitment to improve their climbing performance, and the possibility to compete on a regular basis.

The Programme will start in April 2025, running until the end of the year.

There will be 3 levels of squad participation, each level requires an increased level of commitment. - offers will be made to successful candidates, dependent upon which will be most beneficial for their continued development as climbing athletes

The programme will provide the following:

- Individual training plans and ongoing monitoring

- Strength, Conditioning, Power, & mobility sessions

- Technical climbing profiling, & Individual Reports

- Coaching support at BMC competitions

- Access to Climbing workshops with Matt VC, Alex Prescott, & Imi Bagnall-Smith

- Access to Coaching on Roped climbing sessions, at London climbing walls

- A Membership providing unlimited access to all Font Climbing centres

- And of course, the all-important Squad Kit!

To ensure the programme is as accessible as possible (despite the extensive costs associated with the level of coaching input & administration required), The Font will be subsidising the value of this programme by approximately 60% of the standard cost.

The selection event

This will consist of a timed 1-hour session where candidates can attempt and will be marked over 5 separate blocs.
